Theresa and Bryan - Love at last

My friend Theresa's wedding was one of the best weddings I have ever attended and I had the pleasure of photographing the event - along with friend and fellow photographer, Lisa Jones. Theresa and Bryan both traveled rough roads before their paths converged and they found the mate they had each been searching for. The wedding took place at Krippendorf  Lodge at the Cincinnati Nature center in Milford, Ohio.
It suited them perfectly. The food was fantastic, the surroundings were lovely and rustic.







The photo below is my favorite of all the work I have done this year. Theresa's father saw her in her wedding dress and the emotion that happened before us was beautifully sweet. I don't shoot many weddings but these moments are always what makes them worth the energy that it takes to cover them photographically.

Fun couple!

Meet Jessica and Jasen. 

I had the priviledge of shooting their engagement pictures yesterday downtown at the Banks. 
They were so easy and fun to work with. I could not have asked for an easier session. Their love for each other was apparent throughout our time and made it very uncomplicated to get poses and even candid shots. 

 

We also had a great time getting some family shots with Jasen's two boys. 

I look forward to capturing their wedding in two weeks! 

A visit to the dog park

Sketch met some new friends at the dog park yesterday! Yesterday I attended the second annual rescue event in West Chester called My Furry Valentine. Fifty rescues and numerous vendors gathered together under one roof to promote animal adoption and educate people on animal welfare issues facing us today. Share your Fuzzy Love Stories and win a free session!

 My good friend recently lost her sweet dog, Tucker (pictured, along with his best friend Simba). As losses like these usually do, it reminded me how important it is to share the stories of our animal companions and celebrate the blessings that they are to our lives.

Therefore, in honor of Tucker and all of my own fuzzies (the ones still with us and the ones who have gone on) I am offering a forum for you to share the stories of your beloved animal companions and an opportunity for someone in the Greater Cincinnati Area* to win a free portrait session for your fuzzy!

Here's how it works:

 1) Submit a photo and a few paragraphs (500 word limit) about your animal companion to lightbygracephoto@gmail.com. You can share anything - a funny story, how they came to be with you, how they touch your life, etc.

2) Beginning on Valentine's Day, I will feature each one in a blog post on this Blog.

3) On March 1st a panel of five people will select one of the animal companions to receive a free portrait session from LightbyGrace Photography. This includes a 45 minute shoot, viewing of online proofs and a disc of 15 photos.  

*Please note that submissions are welcome from anywhere in the world, but the photo session pick will be limited to the Greater Cincinnati area. I wish I could travel the world and take animal portraits for everyone, but, alas...
